What to do when life is overwhelming
At some point, many of my clients—especially the high-achieving, hard-work-can-make-it-happen ones—experience a tipping point at work. As if their brain has blown a fuse, they find themselves mindlessly clicking a retractable pen for minutes at a put off, or frantically scrolling through documents on one\'s uppers even really reading them. Even on the assumption that their minds tell them they require to check off everything on their to-do list, they’re paralyzed by apprehension. Their brain’s power grid is filled to capacity, so the result is like summertime in the city when everyone’s sufficient an air conditioner—the lights flicker, accept then go out.
Sound familiar? Functioning isn’t so simple when you’re overwhelmed.
It can seem silly: Why would you severe a to-do list hijack your brain? But it’s actually pretty simple—your reason doesn’t just see a to-do give away, it sees the threat of scarcity: not enough time, not enough authority, not enough magical ability to advantage everything into 24 hours. Or minute sees the threat of failing, character threat of disappointing others, the commination of feeling like you’re not familiarity enough.
